Pickles the little terrier shown here came to us from a Spokane shelter a few weeks back.  He was adopted this morning by John, who came over from Lopez Island, having seen Pickles on Petfinder.  John is 91 years old and a veteran of three wars.  He lost his dog several months ago and thought he was too old to adopt another, but decided “life without a dog was no life at all” so he contacted us a few days ago to ask if we’d consider adopting a dog to a man his age.  He assured us that he plans to live at least another five years and when the time comes his son will care for the dog he adopts.  He and Pickles hit it off right away and we watched the two of them drive off to get on the ferry back to Lopez.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
