All volunteers must be 16 years of age or older. Volunteers under 18 years of age must have parent or legal guardian consent and be accompanied by an adult.
We value any time that you are willing to contribute. Our daily operations depend heavily on our volunteers covering certain shifts. A volunteer shift is 2-4 hours per day depending on the volunteer job position. Our goal is that all our volunteers cover at least one shift per week and can commit to at least three months of service. However, we understand everyone’s situation is different and are willing to consider a variety of schedules and time-frames – please don’t hesitate to ask.
All new volunteers are required to enroll in our membership program as a condition of service. Membership is a one-time fee of $25 per person and includes your volunteer t-shirt. If you are unable to pay the membership fee special accommodations can be made through the Volunteer Coordinator on a case by case basis.
Due to liability reasons, we cannot accept volunteers that have been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor for violent crimes against people or animals, theft, weapons or drug charges. Background checks are required. Please see our background check policy for more details.
