I wanted to volunteer with the shelter to help some of the animals that have been displaced and had their lives disrupted. Having recently lost our own loving canine companion to cancer not long after beginning retirement and moving, there was a void in my own life that I was hoping to fill through volunteering my time and simple efforts. Though I’m not ready to take on a full-time commitment, helping socialize and walk the dogs through APS-FH seemed a great opportunity. It’s a great privilege to help these animals find loving homes.
